Let's not not pretend like that is "game play mechanics". Or letting yourself almost suffocate then toggling your gas mask.really?

Not only is that silly, but it doesn't even make sense. It feels like it's trying to do things that it was never built for which leads to stuff like walking around with your charger out so that the weapons attached to your back don't get dirty. I am struggling to enjoy this entry at all. The dark oppressive atmosphere of the underground metro was perfect.

I think that if you trade your weapons in then come back later for them, Tokarev will have cleaned them partially if not fully for you, so switch up what you use But you need to do it to save Alyosha anyways.Īside from that, my advice is trade your weapons around. You can save a lot of resources by stealthing, though this is arguably the most frustrating area to stealth. Don't bother with explosive bolts as they're pretty terrible and expensive to boot. You want to save as many resources as you can for shotgun ammo and sniper ammo, as well as molotovs because the damn Bear fights take so much of them. Taiga isn't too bad, it's mostly short and linear, you can save resources by only going out in the day where the wolves are less likely to be on the prowl. You don't need to make boatloads of expensive fire ammo for the Tikhar as there's only two sections with spiders, and fire ammo does little to humans, only against Demons is it worth using aside from spiders. I found that after that area and clearing the airbase I was ok on supplies for the rest of Caspian.

Theres not THAT many resources in the village either, so using throwing knives is key if you wanna recoup your investment. The game eats up a ton of your stockpiled resources when going to a new area, and by clearing that place out with guns I ended up screwing myself over. In Caspian, especially early on, you want to use throwing knives to clear out that abandoned village as much as you can. In Volga falling into the river ♥♥♥♥♥ up the weapons really fast. After most injuries I just ran to the nearest bed to heal by drinking from a flask. As for the medkits, I saved those only for long major shooting sequences. On the levels where you need filters you often can find enough. Even if you don't have the railgun yet, try to utilize the tikhar as much as you can for the same reason of cheap ammo.īut I also remember I almost never had to craft the filters or medkits either on RHC. I didn't use it solely and ignore all other weapons, but it did save me ammo, especially useful in the fights against mutants. I cheesed the Ranger hardcore a little by doing it as a NG+ run with "my guns" option enabled after a normal playthrough, so I started the game with a railgun and I almost never had to craft ammo other than steel balls, which only need scrap.

That is, unless you have to shoot in the middle of the mud. Originally posted by patronusV:Here's a tip for you: when you have to go through mud or water and you know you'll get your weapon dirty, just switch to your battery charger (press and hold F by default) until you've crossed the obstacle.
